    macOS Windows Linux

    Everyday file management

A patch release focused on everyday file management, plus video and tag fixes. Mori stays local and offline-first.

    New

    • Desktop-style selection in every view and in search results — click, Cmd/Ctrl-click, Shift-click, Shift-arrows and select all — with a selection bar for the common actions
    • Move to… and Copy to… for files and folders, with a preview first and Keep Both, Replace or Skip on conflicts; nothing is overwritten in place
    • Drag and drop onto folders in the grid, list and sidebar, through the same checks as Move to…
    • Quick Cleanup — review a folder one file at a time from the keyboard; decisions are staged and only go to the system Trash after one confirmation
    • File actions inside the preview, and Rename Tag… and Delete Tag… from the sidebar

    Improved

    • Favorites get a clickable star on thumbnails and in List view, and a count in the sidebar
    • F2 renames, and renaming or undoing a move keeps an item's favorite and tags
    • The offline world map loads only when Places is opened

    Fixed

    • Quick Cleanup and the video filmstrip no longer crop portrait and rotated phone videos
    • Video details report the displayed size of rotated phone videos
    • Manage Tags no longer leaves a deleted tag's view open

  2. v1.0.0

    macOS Windows Linux

    First stable release

The first stable release, with features listed by area rather than by commit.

    New

    • Virtualised Gallery, Grid and List views that stay smooth with tens of thousands of files
    • Instant, accent-insensitive search across a folder, its subfolders or the whole drive
    • Previews of images (including HEIC on macOS), video with codec probing, audio with a waveform, and safe PDF pages
    • Archive inspection — listed, never extracted — with traversal and bomb checks
    • Exact Duplicates, Similar Media with Compare views, and a suggested Best Copy
    • Metadata inspector, Sensitive Metadata scan, Places map and sanitised copies
    • SHA-256 checksums, Compare Integrity and opt-in integrity snapshots
    • Private folders, Temporary Session, Private Inspection and Privacy & Local Data
    • Rename, Move to Trash and Undo, with an Operation Preview before larger changes

    Security

    • Real file-type detection by content, for about 90 formats
    • Decoding in short-lived, sandboxed worker processes that receive bytes, never paths
    • Read-only Mode and Never Modify folders enforced by a backend mutation policy
